About AAAI

The Entrance to Recovery

Addiction Accountability Adherence Initiative (AAAI) was co-founded by two physicians with deep expertise caring for safety-sensitive professionals—most notably pilots and physicians. Our founding team pairs a retired combat military/TWA pilot. A former USAF Flight Surgeon for Air Force One, Senior HIMS AME/IMS with nearly 50 years of experience; Wright Brothers award recipient and an engineer-entrepreneur behind patented, life-saving healthcare technologies—with a HIMS-Qualified, board-certified addiction psychiatrist who has served as Chief Medical Officer for a world-class treatment center, held positions on national addiction boards, and co-founded a nationally credentialed education platform for pre-hospital healthcare professionals.

Drawing on those roots in high-stakes aviation and physician monitoring, AAAI adapts an aviation-grade safety culture and medical rigor—long proven with safety-sensitive professionals—to serve the broader community. We translate high-stakes return-to-duty principles into accessible recovery pathways for individuals, families, employers and treating professionals: structured monitoring, collaborative documentation, and compassionate accountability that help people get well, stay well, and safely return to life. The same standards that protect the skies now strengthen communities—protecting the public, preserving livelihoods, and empowering lasting recovery.
